The U.S. immigration law is extremely complex. While the immigration law is generally found in the Immigration and National Act (“INA”), as amended, its implementing regulations, technical guidance, policy memoranda, and the like, are found in various resources, and where those resources can be located depends upon what it is you are trying to accomplish during any particular point in the immigration process. This guide provides a broad overview of several temporary and permanent employment-based immigration options for foreign nationals coming to, or already in, the United States. It is by no means meant to be comprehensive, nor is it intended to cover all of the hundreds if not thousands of nuances associated with the practice of immigration law.
